SafeGuard Pornography Blocking Software
Make pornography harder to access before the next urge happens.
SafeGuard is a layered pornography-blocking application being developed for Windows, macOS, and Linux/Zorin OS. Its purpose is to reduce easy access to pornography and make common circumvention methods significantly more difficult.
Why Use a Pornography Blocker?
Blocking software does not replace personal responsibility. It changes the environment in which decisions are made. Strong filtering introduces barriers, and those barriers create time—another opportunity to choose a different response.
More Than a Browser Extension
- System-wide adult-content DNS filtering
- SafeSearch enforcement
- Browser Secure DNS restrictions
- Alternate DNS blocking
- DNS-over-TLS blocking
- VPN, proxy, and Tor blocking options
- Allow-list-only browsing
- Selected application blocking
- Scheduling
- Password-protected administration
- Accountability logging
SafeGuard for Linux / Zorin
Available now / under active development. The Linux/Zorin edition is designed to integrate with the operating system rather than operating only inside a browser.
Add your current SafeGuard download link here when ready.
SafeGuard for Windows
In development. Planned features include Windows service-based enforcement, firewall controls, DNS protection, browser policy enforcement, VPN/proxy blocking, protected settings, scheduling, and accountability features.
SafeGuard for Mac
In development. The macOS edition will be designed around Apple’s security architecture with DNS filtering, managed browser policies, system-level filtering, anti-circumvention controls, protected settings, and scheduling.
Locked Mode
SafeGuard can use a separate lock password. For stronger protection, that password can be controlled by another trusted person. An even stronger configuration uses an everyday computer account without administrator privileges.
Allow-List-Only Mode
For people who need very restrictive access, SafeGuard can limit browsing to specifically approved websites. This mode is significantly more restrictive and may not be appropriate for every user.
SafeGuard Is a Tool, Not the Entire Solution
Blocking addresses opportunity. The PornographyCure.com Recovery Program addresses triggers, beliefs, urges, habits, emotional reactions, and relapse prevention.
